Homeopathy: quackery or a way of cheating?

"The main criticism put forward in the direction of homeopathy concerns the theory of dilutions and how homeopathic remedies are prepared. It is common knowledge that both homeopaths and scientists use the same breeding process", says Ron Harris, co-founder of the homeopathic medical Association of Canada. In his article, he tried to explain the difference between the concept of "breeding" in the generally accepted scientific sense and the concept of "breeding", which is used in homeopathy in manufacture of homeopathic medicine. Unfortunately, this word also has another concept that is so skillfully used by the authors of some publications, calling doctors who ease people's suffering, give hope for healing and simply treat patients – charlatans, "masters of breeding". We suggest that together with Ron Harris to understand what is the peculiarity of homeopathic breeding.

In the process of making a homeopathic medicine, dynamization or potentiation is used, in which the dissolved substance is vigorously shaken. According to homeopathic doctrine, the more stages of dilution, the more dynamization (potentiation), the stronger the effect of homeopathic medicine. And this contradicts formal logic, if you look at it from the other side – the more solvent, the less the initial substance, the lower the concentration of the initial substance. In this case, what has the effect and enhances the effect of homeopathic medicine? And, of course, the question arises, how can this be - the more diluted the solution, the stronger it is? The answer to this and other questions can be found in the article by Ron Harris. The article was adapted for Russian-speaking readers, preserving the style and features of the author's presentation by doctor of medical Sciences, Professor Leonid Kosmodemyansky.
